Personally I have to agree with other marketers that this is an underhanded trick to get subscribers to a membership.

Because I did actually purchase Joel’s book myself, I can say that on the order page there is an option to remove the subscription. By default, it will have a one in the Quantity box. I just replace it with a ‘0′ which eliminates the subscription.

I purchased and recommended the book due to one fact – Joel’s book is a #1 best seller and I know that it will help my adsense revenues as well as yours; but I am disappointed with Joel’s approach and will be skeptical in the future about recommending his products.

I am fortunate enough; and blessed, at the approaching age of only 47, to have my health, my children and my grandchildren; who are also fortunate enough to be healthy. But I realize that not everyone is that fortunate.

I can only imagine the struggle it would be; on top of being ill; to try to sort out a way of maintaining ones finances as well as everything else; and I suspect this is the reason they are online – only trying to do what they can to earn some kind of living and maintain their lives. One chap who I’ve gotten to know over the past few weeks is in New Zealand and is really a great guy with a fantastic positive attitude.

As a little side note – I know as well that I have a few ‘fellow Internet marketers’ that also receive my email, and I ask them especially to take notice of this proposal.

To make it short and to the point, I plan to set aside one half day per week to work with anyone that finds themselves in such a situation; at no charge. I wish I could do more but if others pull together we can. Now If by chance the demand is such that it’s too difficult to make time for the need, then I promise we’ll work something out. (IE. Conference calls for example where I can work with more than one individual at a time)

One more thing… maybe you’re not a gooroo, but if you find yourself pretty savvy at this IM stuff as well, then join me and give a little bit back. As the saying goes, it’s better to give than to receive.
