Article Marketing | Writing for Free Traffic And Authority
Sunday, July 20th, 2008
You’ve probably heard about Article marketing. In fact, you may even be sick of hearing about it. But are you doing it? The reason that you hear so much about this is that it works!
True, article marketing builds traffic slowly. There are faster ways to get traffic. But, when you build traffic using this method, you are also building your credibility. You are drawing responsive people to your site, and if your site is doing its job as well, and you get those people on your list, you can draw them back time and time again.
Note: If you are not collecting email addresses at your website, the traffic that you bring there is essentially wasted. By building an opt-in list, you can bring traffic back to your site over and over again, and this is essential to online businesses. Email addresses and first names should be collected with an opt-in page, or with subscribe boxes located on every single page of your website! More on this in a few days as I start giving you some insider videos.
Now, let’s start generating some traffic with articles. The concept is that you write an article, which should be anywhere from 350 to 700 words in length. You include an author’s resource box at the bottom of your article, and your website link is included in that resource box. You then submit the article to article directories like ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com
Important: Before you submit any article to an article directory, post it to your own blog/website first. That way the search engines see your site as the original source of the article.
If you can’t write, you should try to learn. Writing is just like talking. One trick I use at times is to record a conversation with another marketer (you could get a friend or your spouse to help you) on a specific topic and then extract the content I want and transcribe it into an article. It doesn’t take long to get 350 words.
Another option of article writing is also to use a software tool. I’ll be showing you the ‘one and only‘ tool I use to generate most of my articles these days. Watch for that in the insider videos I’ll be giving you over the next week or so.
The last option is to outsource your article writing. You can have an article written for less than $10 each by a ghostwriter. Also, if you don’t have the time it takes to submit articles, you can hire a service to do that for you as well.
It is essential that you do article marketing, because it is viral. Your articles will be used on other people’s websites, blogs, and in their ezines
– spreading the word about your site. But what to write about? If finding a profitable area to start, leaves you in the dark I have a suggestion to help you out.
You certainly don’t want to pick and area to start on and then find out after you do all the work that its a dud!
Go here a get this short report, and it will point you to hot spots you can start on right away to get floods of interest!
